#MLK 50 conference is trending on twitter and I had to see what the hype was all about. We long and behold their has been a conference going on in regards to the honorable Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr and non violent movement. I am ecstatic that we even have the opportunity to host a conference in honor of his beliefs. However this conference typically exhibits those who work in the pastoral field or activism field.
The prominent members come together to discuss and address how they plan to create an atmosphere in which we can live in a world without violence. This act within itself is a huge step forward and the challenge becomes even harder, when these prominent leaders are expected to take the exact acts that they learned and bring them to their local community leaders and citizens.
On the downside, I think we don’t need a conference to tell us how to treat people right and how to go about it. Even though Dr. King had meeting with other leaders , it was never as big as these conferences are and the idea to monetize off of this movement is absurd.
